Pretty pleased with how this chap turned out. The alpine figure was a bargain on eBay because the barrel was broken off the m3, the trailer is from the Tamiya kettenkrad. It’s nice to do a single figure with a base from time to time. #histscalemodels

This thing here, exhibit A in "the danger of leaving our ships to melt in the hot sun", is HMS Glatton. And on this day in 1918 things went even more pear-shaped than they already were...

I’m really loving this figure, pretty happy with the jacket and trousers, the face needs work but I need to leave it and return with fresh eyes. Of course when I try to get a decent photo it looks like I painted it with a thumb! #histscalemodels

Does the quality of a kit matter? I think so. The miniart figures I painted were fine, I didn’t enjoy painting them and they came out ok. This is a gorgeous sculpt and I’m loving painting it. I’ll probably do a better job as a result. #histscalemodels

Puma done. I think the vehicle and ground work are some of my best work. The figures are ok, worth having for the sense of motion but not great. I don’t like plastic figures and I’m out of practice anyway, I’ve left them tacked on in case I decide to have another go some time #histscalemodels

This stuff is awful!

After months of very little mojo/modelling inspiration I now find myself with loads of ideas for projects and not nearly enough time for them all.

A little work on the base for my Puma. I’m wondering about a tree at the back to give it some height, maybe a couple of abandoned fuel cans and other detritus. I think it needs some colour, yellow flowers in the grass maybe. #histscalemodels

I’ve wanted a decent wool layer to wear by the fire when we are camping, finally decided to make one. It looks a bit like some sort of French colonial uniform but I’m pretty happy with it.

Reminds me of when we had a Ukranian refugee join us at work, he sat in his new class and immediately 3/4 boys ran over and started talking to him. They had all learned some Ukranian phrases that might be useful and really looked after him. Nobody asked them, they were just wonderful kids!/1

That’s the Puma done for now, I’ve got a few bits to add but will leave them until I’ve done the crew. I think I might have to make a small scenic base too #histscalemodels

I feel like Star Trek SNW took a while to hit its stride, season 1 was ok, I enjoyed 2 and there were some real highlights. 3 has been brilliant. All good episodes so far with a few that have been quite brave and challenging. Awesome stuff.

And there you have it! Red/brown applied. I think this is probably the best 3 tone scheme I’ve ever painted. There is some overspray to tidy up (glad I saved some of my yellow mix) but overall I’m pleased with how it turned out and actually a bit miffed I have put off this wiggly style so long.

I found some time to get started on the camouflage scheme for my Puma. I’m using the AK German real colour camo set and so far I really like the yellow and green. #histscalemodels
