Happy #ValentinesDay What do you love about Crookston Castle? Is it the history, the view from the top? Childhood memories of visiting? A peaceful place to walk, or a favourite photo spot? Whatever it is, we’d love to hear it.

A huge thank you to the 11 volunteers who came along to our litter pick, helping clear the hillside, Castle path, neighbouring streets, and the grass verges along Brockburn Road. Days like this really help keep the area looking its best for everyone who lives nearby and those who comes to visit.

Happy St Andrew’s Day! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Our national day is a reminder of how Scotland’s heritage can bring people together. At Crookston Castle we see that every week, as the community comes together to share and celebrate our shared connections, history and future.

Our volunteers enjoyed a memorable evening as we picked up another award! This one celebrating our partnership with VSC & artist Hannah Brackston hosting schools during GlasgowDODFestival. A lovely recognition of the creativity, teamwork and community spirit that makes Crookston Castle so special.

Thrilled to be regional winners of the Community Champions Awards 🎉 As a small, volunteer-led group, this means so much. In just our first full year, we’ve hosted events, school visits and heritage projects that have helped reconnect people with one of Glasgow’s most historic landmarks.

We had a brilliant time at the Collection Medieval Day! Our stall was busy all day helping visitors design their very own coats of arms, taking inspiration from the incredible art and armour on display in the museum.

The grant we received from the Castle Studies Trust has opened up so many opportunities for our community—from new research and volunteers to schools events. We’d highly recommend other groups apply, it’s a fantastic way to unlock fresh discoveries and bring people closer to their heritage.
