Truthfully, I’ve started and stopped and restarted twenty books in the last few months, unable to focus due to the state of the world. But an Elizabeth Strout I knew I could finish. Intimate, simple, beautiful. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Would love recommendations for similar, or any books helping to cope. 📚 💙

I finished this awhile ago and didn’t think too much of it, to be quite frank. But many months later I keep thinking back to the descriptions and characters and can’t figure out why they’re sticking with me like this 💙📚

The best part about cutting this service is that it makes both Republican Jesus and Fiscally Conservative Jesus happy. Denying poor people care ✔️ Increasing healthcare costs ✔️ (when someone is admitted for a serious infection that could’ve been treated with oral antibiotics earlier) Excellent!

Literature mastery = writing an opening scene of a party with dozens of people where the omniscient narrator moves throughout the house and somehow maintains both clarity and curiosity 📚💙

Yet again, Eowyn Ivey eloquently lures us into the depths of the wilderness and her own imagination. It’s magical realism in a way that even this earthbound reader can appreciate. Next time I see a bear on a hike I’ll be checking for a jagged scar on his face 💙📚 @eowynivey.bsky.social

If you, like me, are having a hard time concentrating lately, on account of all the horrors - Liz Moore’s The God of the Woods is captivating, equal parts devastating and nuanced. A page-turner, as they say, artfully written with multiple POVs and timelines that somehow remain crisply distinct. 📚💙

Violeta: A one-hundred-year-old woman taught me what’s possible when you remain open to love and opportunity as she recounts her century-long life in this epistolary novel 💙📚

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A study in braided point of view. This mesmerizing domestic drama spans nearly fifty years, somehow maintaining tension through multiple generations. It’s a challenging task—so many POV characters, so many years—but Ann Napolitano does it beautifully, striking perfect pace and depth. 💙📚

Oliver Noodle’s honest review of Wellness by Nathan Hill: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Reality could be created by the stories you believed, and thus it was important to pick the right stories.” 💙📚

A world where art and human connection transcend politics. Bel Canto by Ann Patchett: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “It makes you wonder. All the brilliant things we might have done with our lives if only we suspected we knew how.” 💙📚
