I feel academia has thinly-veiled exclusionary practices against those with caring responsibilities/children. A week ago unlocked a new terror as an #ActuallyAutistic person. With my tonsils freshly cauterised in hospital, a nurse proceeds to monologue well-meaning but outdated, ableist thoughts about Autism.

Seeing my students write their first essays on my Neurodivergence in Learning and Life module has been an absolute privilege. There are such nuanced and evidenced forces for change, I couldn’t be happier. I hope Swansea see the need and passion for this topic and expand it 🙏 🧠 ♾️
