I always remind people to create the art YOU want to see because you're the only one who can make it happen the way YOU want; don't create with the mindset of "who can this appeal to" because you'll end up creating a sauceless, forgettable nothingburger that you won't really enjoy making.

Nothing is more depressing than watching young artists give other young artists advice like “only use one colour palette in everything you do to have a more recognizable brand” and “draw everything with a target audience in mind”
