I truly believe the devs of all previous Bubsy games cared about the franchise & wanted to make a good game too. You can tell that there was love poured into all of them. No dev wants their baby to fail & there are so many factors that can lead to a game not being successful!

Do you remember LCD Games? 🕹️👾 Besides Top Gun and TMNT, which came from Konami and were based, at least in terms of design, on their NES games, Tiger was the largest provider of these technically very simple games. Even Nintendo offered their "Game & Watch" LCD devices at the time. #retrogaming #80s

The legend of Yoshi 3D SNES: Argonaut, which had already worked with Nintendo on the Super FX chip and Star Fox, showed them a tech demo for a 3D Yoshi game in the mid 90s. BigN declined and the collaboration ended. However, Argonaut took the idea and turned it into their Croc: Legend of the Gobbos.

Here in Germany, consoles played a negligible role in the 80s. There were people who had them, but hardly anyone cared. The C64 was the star of the schoolyard. Anyone who wanted something more impressive had an Amiga to show off.
