So this weekend is camping and it's falling pretty flat. It literally just turned into the worlds biggest dick measuring contest. I think I need to find a new group to camp with that actually wants to go camp and not just compare who is willing to spend more money. At least the scenery was nice.

So far my "estimated wait time of 4 minutes" is coming up on nearly 40 minutes! God I hate trying to get a hold of some companies.

That moment when you tap your earpiece to pause the song you're listening to only to remember too little too late that you have actually been listening to the hold music for an hour and you just disconnected the call and have to try again tomorrow now.

I am almost at wits end. I have spent the bulk of the day at home watching the weather radar just utterly paranoid. There has been so much rain this month (with Edmonton having broken it's previous 100 year record of rainfall in June) I am absolutely paranoid of having a basement flood.

Went for a morning run to clear my head for my exam today. I have a freah pot of coffee on and some Biscoff to get me going... *sigh* Alright you miserable bitch.... Let's do this!

De-stress workout tonight. Been in training all week and the practical exam is tomorrow. It is open book, but this has got to be the most finicky, god awful, unforgiving, non-user friendly piece of software I have had the misfortune of using. I miss the standalone PLCs I trained on years ago. 😭

I'm in training all week and its weird. The course sounds overwhelming. But as the other students introduce themselves and talk about their backgrounds I realize that I am far from the least experienced person here. (That said, certainly far from the most experienced person in the class either.)

God damnit. I have my truck scheduled in for glass repairs this weekend and I just glanced at the reminder text from the glass shop and realized, they booked me into not only the wrong location, but the wrong city all together! 🤦🏻‍♂️

What an incredibly frustrating week.My company has screwed up my paychecks 2 weeks in a row now, so I'm short around $600 - $900 while they sort it out. And this online assessment they wanted done kicked me out at 90% complete and now the provider is dragging their feet getting my progress back.

This is weird. I had to drive up north to do a job and they put me in a work camp while I am up here. I haven't stayed in a work camp in 20 years! The rooms are bigger than they used to be for sure and the food seems not bad. But I am still glad I am gonna be in and out of here by Friday morning.

Been a strange day or two. Got contacted to come in on for an emergency job and investigate an electrical arc flash incident. The system arced so badly it blew all 3 phases at the utility companies transformer and injured two workers whom I am well aquanted with. 😕

Had an interesting experience in VRC last night. Normally when I go into the group meet I hang around the edges and talk to one or two people. Last night though I came in and waved at someone I knew and within about 30 seconds I had a whole group over talking with me. It was pretty cool. ❤️❤️

Some day winter will end.... Just not sure if it'll be any time this year.

Did my first outdoor run of the season before our weekly snow storm rolls in. It went.... Not well... Bad time and all the little minor rises and falls on the trail just killed me. I've been running on a flat track too long. 😭

I finally took dad's old road bike in and had it overhauled after sitting in dry storage for 30+ years. I just need to get a helmet and some of those funny looking bicycle shorts and I'll be ready to put some miles down on it this summer.

Whos idea was it to not put a single hotel in Northwest Calgary?? The nearest hotels to my next assignment about 20 minutes away in every other direction. 😒 Guess I'm staying out by the airport.

I do have to admit I am slightly concerned about my parents. I was over for dinner the other night and both of them have put on a fair bit of weight. On top of that it seems like they aren't really making any strides to change course. I suspect my mom wants to but that dad is dragging his heels. 🫤

I'm dealing with someone on FB marketplace who wants to buy my old phone and he's so maddening I almost want to agree to his stupid offer just so I can meet him in person to tell him what an idiot he is! 🤬

What do I actually have to do to get these idiots to put packages in the box so they don't get damaged?? Hire someone to stand there and tell them? Get flashing lights and alarm bells?? I mean where the hell does Amazon find these people???

I interrupted a fox chasing down his dinner on my evening walk last night. He back paddled a few dozen yards and then just glared me down. Interesting that this is the first time I have seen a fox in town. I guess it makes sense given how many wild rabbits there are in the area.
