If I needed to call home from school I had to use a pay phone. The office would never let you use the phone there. If you didn’t have a quarter you had two options…ask a friend or call collect. Calling collect presented a problem because your parents didn’t want that on the phone bill.

Finished the Kingdom Come audio drama that came out late last year. It was really good. Dirk Maggs captured the feel of the comic and the ending was emotional. Marc Thompson was a good Superman and,as I wrote in my initial post, Lorelei King was excellent as Wonder Woman. Ray Porter was so good…1/

Rachel picked up some peppermint bark on clearance today (it got really expensive this year and I wanted to wait to see if it would go down after the holidays) and my Krypto popcorn bucket now has a legit use. Thanks to my wife for getting these candies for me.

My takeaway from this image is that Superman The Movie is the closest that critics and audiences came to agreeing on a Superman film.

Back in 2001 I delivered papers for the AJC on the convenience/grocery store route. There was a worker at the Kroger I delivered to that would talk to me while I made the double deals and he recommended this film to me and just badgered me to watch it. I eventually did and loved it. 1/

Finally got to print out my calendar for the year. It turned out better than I thought it would and I say that because I was worried about the dpi of some of the images I used. Ignore rhe typo on the cover And the delay led to me going with a Trinity theme. Which worked out better.

How I’m walking out of 2025.

Christmas of 1993 was a rough one. Mom died on December 9th & while we made the best of it by the end of Xmas Day I was ready to get out of the house. So I went to see Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Thanks to @pauldini.bsky.social & crew for making this film. It was a welcome distraction that year.

Low key Christmas this year. Had a late breakfast and then watched Superman while Rachel napped. Separated from the hype and from the antici…pation it is still a wildly enjoyable film with some fun Superman moments. The cast is great, the music was good, and I like that costume the more I see it.
