I finished Doll's Nest, really pleasantly surprised by how good it was! For such a small team it's incredibly impressive how well they managed to execute "what if armored core was a souls game". Biggest thing for me was hearing Mitose Noriko in the soundtrack! Shame there's only music in bosses :)

the sewer drain for my block is blocked so i called the city to get it fixed and now there's like 3 police cars and a fire engine outside, the whole street's taped up like a crime scene, and my drain's still blocked :/ my kitchen is flooding every time someone upstairs washes their hands 😭 save me

I think GDScript is a great scripting language but trying to design user-facing interfaces (and using those interfaces - see trying to interact with non-GDExtension plugins) is really hard to do intuitively this screenshot is an extremely edge-case edge case but it's one that needs to be handled...

today i learned how to use Ghidra to decompile switch games (to patch a WiiU->Switch game to run at 60fps) so far i only figured out how to change the vsync to 60 instead of 30, but the WiiU version had some extra fixes for animation speeds etc. which i'll need to hunt down the addresses for

if i wanted to make something that *looked* like a terminal user interface in godot, what would be the best way? A) make some neat UI nodes that are easily styled and look all retro and console-y B) emulate a whole terminal in godot, and write the ui in ncurses i made the mistake of trying to do B

i'm playing a little bit of bloodborne (at 60fps on my linux pc... kinda crazy that it just works perfectly now lmao) i forgot just how girlypop this game is god it's so cute <3 i can't wait till i get to lady maria again

i've tried using vim a few times and it never really stuck, but slowly finding myself using it more and more often for actual programming, which is kinda crazy to me turns out you don't need to learn a million hotkeys, just knowing a few already makes it better than e.g. vscode lol

so, turns out adding custom behaviour to godot's blender importer (without modifying the source code) is actually a lot simpler than i thought! blender allows you to easily create custom GLTF extensions which are loaded automatically, and Godot does the same so... what can I do with this?

i feel like trains show up in dreams in media often, and i genuinely can't tell if it's because people actually dream of trains or because it's a good literary tool i have had so many dreams where getting onto a train to leave the dream is how i wake up, so i assume it really is a common thing?

i generally hate C++ templating (for being so easy to explode yourself with) but i do wish Rust had better const generic support and ergonomics. Templates being able to apply to a whole region of code is a lot easier than having to type out the entire definition for every impl block separately
