The thing that was so cool about the nWo (and ultimately so bad for the business) was that they shit on every convention we knew in wrestling. At the time it felt so blasphemous but doesn’t land quite so hard looking back now. We didn’t know how good we had it as know-nothing marks.

Well, I had a bit of a rant last night about Triller, MyAEW and apps. I shouldn’t rant. But I am sad. To be honest the bit that breaks me the most is the loss of TV simplicity. There is something quite nice about being able to just stick the TV on and find your show. No browsers, sticks, casts.

Now that AEW+ on Triller is officially dead, I hope AEW gets to work on improving the UI for MyAEW and releasing more app versions. I've been very happy with the service so far but it still need work

TrillerTV confirms that AEW Plus is being discontinued. ROH and AEW PPVs will no longer be available to purchase on the platform.

I love AEW but I could do without whatever we want to call this fanbase who wanted to righteously cancel everyone who doesn't fit their immaculate utopian behavioural model.

Been saying since last year how great a fit it would be for Marina for her friend to show up and add weight to her as a top heel. That match with Toni was great.

Ronda in AEW is an insane get for them at this point and probably amounts to a couple of matches that puts Toni and even a returning Mercedes over, and even Marina. The need to hyper-analyse the supposed ethics of every human being that comes through the locker room is going to be the death of AEW.

Nothing against the guy at all, but Danhausen to me amounts to just booking a low key celeb. He doesn't offer anything in the ring better than what AEW has, and his gimmick is fairly one-dimensional. It's like booking the Jelly Roll guy.

Just realised AEW Plus on FITE includes a mass archive of past AEW pay per views now. Incredible value for $7 a month or whatever it is.

Quite bizarre how we romanticise the “big four” WWF/E events and how it’s never been the same since monthly PPVs. Yet, if you look back, the big four only co-existed as the big four for about 4 years. Hardly any time at all but it remains such a golden era.

Have to wonder if the Mikey Rukus theme for Takeshita was actually a prototype for Dynamite. It sounds so much like a mashup of Monday Nitro, the nWo and classic TNT-era entrances.

It surely has to be on the cards but the era of Marina Shafir brutalising people as AEW Champ will be a thing for the ages.

People give Saraya a hard time because she had to relearn the business in front of a live audience and had a ton of pressure put on her. It was unrealistic and she should had been afforded more respect really. I’d love to see her back, but with the right idea. AEW is far more suited to her overall.

If WWE was really smart with the TNA relationship they could very easily create a faux war between Impact and any of their shows. Why not have talent jumps, on-screen vitriol and have WWE even acknowledge them as their closest rival. I mean, it would be kayfabe but why don’t they do it?
