I’ve gotten much better at my shading and lighting in my characters, able to make the light hitting skin look more natural and realistic. And I have managed to draw more variety in body types to make each character standout outside of species to make them stand out more

Do sketches. Go in with the intention of getting ideas out without 3xpecting to actually finish them. You can stumble onto a lot of cool shit thst way that would otherwise be held back by expectations of grandeur.
