Using AI slop as "reference" images is so insane to me. The point of reference images is that they anchor fictional imagery you're generating in real things, and because they're real images that come from somewhere, they're also doorways to further research.

These companies did not make the games you loved, it was the work of the artists they seek to unemploy.

Just want to add to this: if you have a vision for what you want from the artist you're commissioning, simple stick figures can go a long way in addition to descriptions. I promise it saves everyone a lot of time and effort. Artists will seriously appreciate it!

The thing thats so insidious about using AI this way is that one of the main ways artists get hired are studios looking for art references and they find us and reach out. This is removing a major avenue to get work if they can just generate nameless derivations of our ideas.

Creative solidarity means: If you're a writer, do not use AI "art" or AI "voiceover" If you're an artist, do not use AI "writing" or AI "references" If you're a streamer/actor, do not use AI for backdrops, thumbnails, etc. Never help AI steal another medium No excuses, no shortcuts, no surrender.

I really want to emphasize that this is a winnable fight, but everyone has to chip in in order to do so! Please dont sit it out expecting others to stand in your place! And dont ignore local/state level stuff! As these state laws get overturned, the narrative behind the Fed ones lose steam!
