As the second stop of the Colorado Project's Rural Learning Tour wraps up in the San Luis Valley, we're grateful to the impressive community leaders, educators, and entrepreneurs we learned from who are innovating creative solutions to their community's unique challenges. Some highlights below:

The Colorado Project is headed to the San Luis Valley later this week for the second stop on its Rural Learning Tour! We'll be engaging with orgs & leaders at the forefront of innovative solutions to the Valley's unique challenges, which also hold valuable learnings for the rest of CO.

A new study from Scrivner Affiliate @schaveznorgaard.bsky.social ‪& collaborators demonstrates that Denver’s mandatory parking minimums reduce housing production. Using a Housing Policy Simulator, they find that eliminating minimums boosts construction & lowers costs. Read more: bit.ly/41aOyqG

CO Project Sterling Day 2: At Northeastern Junior College, we learned that career-connected learning in rural regions requires in-demand opportunities, employer alignment, and long-term investment and trust. The future of rural economic mobility is fueled through these schools.

Day 2 of CO Project in Sterling: The power of wind 🌬️ We toured wind energy sites in Northeast Colorado that are generating more than electricity—they’re fueling local jobs, supporting landowners, and anchoring the region’s clean energy future.

Today’s CO Project discussions included a regional snapshot of Northeast CO's economic mobility and cost of living landscape. Together with leaders in education, agriculture, business, and civil society, we are mapping ideas for resilient growth in rural areas that can have statewide benefits.

We're kicking off the CO Project Rural Renaissance Learning Tour today in Sterling! The tour will spotlight the innovative work happening across Colorado's rural communities. As we begin in Northeast CO, we're excited to learn more about the unique challenges and opportunities in these communities.
