A couple of pretty Dotted Border and my old friend le March Moth were the best of a 12/4 trap to actinic light in VC27, Norfolk. We're getting there. #teammoth #norfolkmoths

Quite a chilly night in the Norfolk hood, so a modest 6/3 to actinic. Grey Shoulder-knot the highlight. Also surprised to see a Common Quaker lay a large batch of eggs in the pot. Normal or early? 🤔 #teammoth #norfolkmoths

Despite plenty of the wet stuff, a commendable 12/6 #moths danced the light dance here in VC27. Nfy (and maybe g) was a box-fresh Grey Shoulder-knot. Also new was Pale Brindled Beauty, with a knackered wing, so here's the Dotted B instead. #teammoth #norfolkmoths

Lower numbers aqui last soir, mostly Hebrew Ch. and Common Q. Howevs, this clonker of a Clouded Drab was nfy. #teamoth #norfolkmoths VC27

Smashed into double figures, with 10/4 to actinic in Old Catton VC27 last eve. Dotted Border and Satellite were nfy from le trap. 7 Hebrew Character, looking very fresh. A Common Quaker & then 11th #moth, in the WC, Beautiful Plume. Photography skills are rusty. #teammoth #yearlist moves to 12.

Finalement, some moths! 7/5 on a mild but breezy eve in VC27. All but one chose the actinic over the MV. 4 nfy: March Moth, T.alternella, Hebrew Character and 3 Common Quaker. Phew. #teammoth

We should see the 1st arrivals in the west tonight, however it's later in the period that looks most promising. There should be a direct airstream from N. Africa from Mon, with Tues & particularly Weds looking promising at this stage, when high concentrations of Saharan dust are possible. #teammoth

Was expecting more than just a single Chestnut last night, as it was calm and relatively mild. That's #mothing. #teammoth

The MV drew in 4/2 last soir, with a hat-trick of Dark Chestnuts and what I'm tentatively calling an Acleris schalleriana (Viburnum Tortrix). Good to be moving forwards. #teammoth #norfolkmoths

Opinions on this Acleris, por favor. My money is on schalleriana, which I've had before. However, app is saying all sorts depending on the angle. Fair to say my #mothing year is up and running with a good old head scratcher. #teammoth

Here's the Double Striped Pug that I found, perhaps roosting, on top of my trap the other day. It escaped my finger as I brought it in to pot it, but reappeared on the kitchen wall this morning. Very early record. #teammoth #norfolkmoths
