We went over to my parents’ for our weekly The Pitt watch and my mom had knitted us a fine purple blanket (for the cats)! She was unresponsive this time last year, I can’t believe how much she has recovered. The world is crummy but there are still moments that make you glad to be here.

Winter storm has passed and the night is quiet and blanketed in snow. Made chicken soup, popcorn with extra butter and homemade hot chocolate. Been checking for my stray cat fam (aka "the oranges") all day; finally saw one of them in the snowy moonlight, emerging from the shelter I put out for them.

Two rounds of shoveling complete. Sleet can go straight to hell.

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him. White. Hot. Rage.
