I think I’ve found a way to optimize the R_DrawSpanBackbuffer and R_DrawSpanVBE2 functions in FastDoom for Intel Pentium and AMD K6 processors by avoiding the SHLD instruction (it’s used twice per pixel drawn).

I managed to flash the IC with a ROM that dosdude1 made (modified from ROM for SeriTek/1S2 Sil3112, available at MacOS9Lives) using a FreeDOS bootable floppy (GitHub codercowboy/freedosbootdisks) on the PC with UpdFlash V3.19 (got from Wayback Machine siliconimage dot com). And it works! 🎉

Another surprisingly decent MSI motherboard I found locally - MSI K8N SLI Platinum, and it even works, and all the caps look good (Panasonic and Rubycon 🤗) and even the chipset fan is ok 🫣 P.S. The Creative onboard sound can offer only software EAX, so it's kinda useless 😕
