The introductory article in our latest issue (54:2) explores the concept of uncertainty, which plays an important role in social science. Strathern approaches the topic through the concepts of relationships, interaction and communication, which are often similar in their open-ended nature.

In our latest issue (54:2), Mira Menzfeld's ethnographic snapshot explores the ambivalent reception of Andrew Tate's public conversion to Salafism among Salafis. The snapshot is driven by the question of how much Salafi values overlap with the manosphere and misogynistic values that Tate represents.

Our latest issue (54:2) features a review by Jonathan Purkis of Patrick Laviolette's book Hitchhiking (2020). Purkis expresses great sympathy for Laviolette's approach to exploring this form of slow travel from a variety of angles, and in particular the link between hitchhiking and ethnography.
