Here’s a common sight at the beach. Smart herons hang out with fishermen, looking cute for a snack. These gray herons are pretty big, too. This one is about 3-4 feet tall. I hope he was rewarded for his patience this morning. 😋

When sea turtles crawl ashore to nest, they can be easily disturbed by lights, sounds, motion, or who-knows-what. They’ll turn around and go back to sea without nesting. Some mornings I see about 1/2 of the tracks are U-turns, so it’s very common. They’ll try again tomorrow night. #MarineLife 🦑
