Had a great dress rehearsal for PACT at a local game convention. I will say I have the first of three rounds of this game DOWN. Now I just have to make sure the last two rounds are as widely enjoyed.

Domino City now has 2 game modes. The basic mode uses cards to assign players their regions. The other mode allows them to place cubes to claim regions. Very interested to know, if you have a dominoes set at home, what values are they and what size are the actual dominoes. We have sets of 15x30mm, 20x40mm and 1in x 2in. Curious if there are other common sizes. Wondering if there are enough domino sets in the wild to justify a pnp-only Domino City.🎲

What are the Mashu? Mashu are small, friendly, social creatures. They tend to travel around in groups of four to ten, although there appears to be no upper limit on how many will gather or travel together. Mashu behaviour is entirely based around doing what seems like a fun idea at the time.

So I was making some prototypes and my 3M Spray Mount ran out. I can't find anyone who can ship it by when I need for a sensible price. I also have 3M spray mount Reposition-able and Photo Mount. Which is my best chance of making a long lasting prototype? or should I try some watery wood glue? 🎲✂

It's been mentioned a couple times now, so I'm boosting this one - I'm very pleased to have my first published game come out with @hollandspiele.bsky.social later this year! Can't wait to see it in print and on tables.

The last couple of releases of Libreoffice have had some unfortunate issues for me. Libreoffice Write sometimes has long delays when trying to access the (file) menu (sometimes fixable with a GPU driver update) and now it's crashing (at random) if links are copied to/present in the document. 😤

Is it worth getting a trade stand at a local(ish) (UK) convention if you're in pre-campaign stage (nothing physical to sell)? Will it generate enough interest for the time/cost commitment? Would be concerned about running the stand solo for the whole weekend vs getting a demo table for a few hours🎲✂

Out of interest, are any other designers posting screenshots/photos/images from their games using Glaze or Nightshade? I've been using Glaze for a few months and I have mixed feelings about it, mainly because it makes the art look a little worse and it takes time to do (~2 min per image). 🎲✂

Godot 4.4 is out and it looks like a really big update! Jolt Physics in-built, game previews can be run in-editor now, typed dictionaries are of note for me but there's quite a bit more of interest!

Domino City didn't make it to the finals of the Cardboard Edison Award. The feedback was all very positively framed. The main takeaway seems to be the theme lacking enough initial appeal/a hook. Personally I'm OK with the theme as-is but will look at a few others to see if they're more appealing. 🎲✂️

I think some people are embarrassed to draw their own placeholder art for prototypes, then turn to AI generative images. But I gotta say, I find hand drawn stick figures *WAY* more endearing and *WAY* less embarrassing than AI slop.
