This car dealership has curated the ultimate play list. Itâs called Uncle and it conveniently collects all of the worst songs ever recorded. Even better, they create an aural ambiance where its volume is exactly equal to the nearby tv showing news youâd prefer to ignore!

The Magritte cover grabs your attention initially but the first solo album from Lindisfarneâs singer songwriting comes by its early Elton/Bowie vibes honestly as its engineered by Ken Scott. RIYL Roy Harper or Michael Chapman. (Ack too many dumb snobby reference points for a distinctly original lp!)

Make sure you ask them how many AIs they use. Any company that doesnât use at least 6 AIs will not be able to operate at speed OR at scale.

Looks like a Pavement LP but sounds like the Church or something from Flying Nun circa 1988, has copious amounts of 12 string guitar plus saxophone and is one of the most exciting things Iâve heard this year. Itâs Station Model Violence from Sydney, Australia! Thnx

Inherited this one from my dad but had never played it until today. Sometimes see it go for big bucks? Turns out itâs great! Same swampy soulful vibe as Exile on Main Street. Recorded in a shed in Accokeek Maryland! Crabs likely consumed.

Finnish jazz combo Oiro Peno got a bit of buzz in the nerd jazz community recently. Saw the hand silkscreened art (on recycled reversed covers no less!) and read a reference to hip hop legends Main Source in its description. SOLD! Puts me in the mind of the kind of stuff Don Cherry did in Europe.

Like I dunnoâŠthe Ramones(?)âŠone could plausibly argue you need only one OR every Bonnie Prince Billy album. I guess I land in the latter category predictably. His music is consistently a welcome balm, the newest no exception.

Really really loved this show. Was pretty taken by its many layers and just exceptional performances from the three leadsâŠplus Richard Jenkins who basically stole the whole show. Affecting!

Itâs still early but so far my fave album of 2026 is a live jazz album from an Estonian guitarist/composer and his six multinational friends that was recorded in 2023 but released in 2024 by an independent label based in Detroit.

Got any supremely under the radar bands youâve been championing for ages? Mineâs Tahiti 80 from FranceâŠwho hasnât released anything in the US since 2005(?). But whose quality nonetheless still hasnât dipped! Were I reductive Iâd say like a better version of Phoenix!

In the past 48 hours Iâve watched one documentary about Paul McCartneyâs 70s and another that laser focused on the Beatlesâ 1962. The former was fun but inessential the latter completely unmissable. The gift that ceases to keep gifting.

Picked this one up a few years back in the midst of my 10cc mania/discovery phase. This was one of the early albums recorded at their Strawberry Studios and they served as the backing band. NS (RIP) said âhey you lads are GOOD! You should make yr own recordsâŠâ and the rest is history.

Tatjana Wood has apparently passed away at age 99. Her father was Jewish so during WW2 her parents sent her to the Netherlands, then NY. She studied as a dressmaker, met/married Wallace Wood and began assisting him, then pivoted to becoming one of the best colorists in comics.

Something kinda accidentally perfect about these two records getting re-released on the same day as they areâŠsimpatically (made up word?) exemplary specimens of what Iâd call respectively first wave and second wave US indie pop.

What a perfect week to finally read the first trade of Absolute Wonder Woman, as this weekâs Annual picks up right where its last arc ends. Diana course corrects some Greek Mythology hereâŠand calls out the sometimes distinction bt legend & truth.
