Analogue camera lover...not literally.
Canon Sure Shot Supreme (Autoboy 3, Top Shot) I was feeling a bit bored and wondered if I could get an f2.8 fixed-lens point-and-shoot as cheaply as possible. Yes, I got this one for £10 from the bay. Would it be as good as other famed f2.8 cameras? I was a little disappointed it was a Sure Shot,…

I love honey on my cereal for breakfast and used to buy it during my weekly shop at the supermarket, but not anymore. Having read about why it is important to buy local foods, especially honey, I decided to search for a local apiarist. Searching Facebook Marketplace, I found one that would deliver. I arranged for him to drop off several jars at my workplace, which was very close to him.

I have updated the posts from this month, but some of the photo galleries seem to have a formatting issue. The only way to fix this is to reduce the number of photos in the gallery.

Throwback Anyday: A Bumper Crop from December 2016
I highly regret parting with a couple of cameras from this month. The Mamiya 6 and the orange Konica were great, and I loved using them, but I had a lack of funds and space. I just could not bring all my cameras back from Japan. You can tell this was before the film camera 'boom' as you could never find these cameras for the price I paid for them back then.

The price ranges from £30 to £80, depending on where you buy it. I got mine from eBay for a mid-range price. I bought it for absolutely no other reason than it looked fun to play with, and it was.

A while ago, I bought a few zines and wrote about them here. One was by the Photozine Collective, and they invited me to join them soon after. It wasn't why I wrote the post, I was genuinely impressed by their production. I was really honoured and a little intimidated by the thought of being a member. Soon after, they informed me of the theme for the next zine, Opaque.

World Pinhole Day 2025 It's that time again! World Pinhole Day. I used the pinhole camera I made last year as it worked well and was still in great condition. I only seem to take pinhole photos at the end of April, I wonder why?? I returned to the bluebell woods that I visited with the rustic…

It's that time again! World Pinhole Day. I used the pinhole camera I made last year as it worked well and was still in great condition. I only seem to take pinhole photos at the end of April, I wonder why?? I returned to the bluebell woods that I visited with the rustic pinhole. I love that place and the bells bloom simultaneously with Pinhole Day.

Develop A Difference: Wonkey Donkey I am always looking for and trying to think of new projects to explore with my film cameras. Last year, I visited a local Donkey Sanctuary, Wonkey Donkey, which got me thinking. Could I use my so-called 'skills' for good? That led to the theme, "Develop A…

Could I use my so-called 'skills' for good? That led to the theme, "Develop A Difference" First things first, would they let me take photos of the donkeys for this project?

Voigtländer Month: A Brillant or Two
This is probably the last post for the Voigtlander month, and you get two for one: two Brillants. I always want to write brilliant, but it is Brillant. Apparently, Brillant was for the German market, but there are some cameras embossed with Brilliant for the UK market. I have never seen one, but I found this photo online. I have previously written about the two featured cameras, so I will link to the original posts later.

I bought this camera at the Boston Spa camera fair. I was trying to sell some cameras for a friend and some for myself. I ended up selling three and used the funds to buy this camera. So basically it was a swap, three cameras I was not using for this one. The main thing that interested me was the 120 back.

Voigtländer Month: Return to the Bessa
As this has been a troublesome month for my new-to-me Voigtlanders, I have decided to reuse some of the ones I already have, such as the Bessa. I had issues with this camera the first time I tried it as the winder was very, very stiff. This time, I used the advice in the comments and put on some surgical gloves.

Voigtländer Month: Vito BL This is the second post of the Voighty month, and it was supposed to be about another Vito. I had four Vitos of various models in my junk box, hence this voighty theme. I took one out of the box, and it didn't work as the advance was jammed. I took out another, and the…

This is the second post of the Voighty month, and it was supposed to be about another Vito. I had four Vitos of various models in my junk box, hence this voighty theme. I took one out of the box, and it didn't work as the advance was jammed. I took out another, and the top cover fell off. So I took out another, and the shutter was jammed.

Voigtländer Month: Vito CLR When I looked through my junk box, I found I had a few Voigtländer cameras to test. Then a friend gave me some cameras to sell and a few more were in that lot. So what better than a month of Voigtys, the oldest manufacturer of branded optical products? This Voigty came…

This seems to have been a great month for me camera-wise. A few of the cameras listed below are classics. I still have one of them and examples of two others. I can also see how early these are in my film camera experience. The Nikon was an especially hard read in camera knowledge terms. I had mounted the lens wrong and put the battery in backwards.

Konica Z-up 80 super zoom RC
I have already tried this camera, well the non-RC version. I was going to add this post as a 'return to' but when I looked back at the photos of the other example, there were a few differences in the styling. So I decided to make a new entry to the camera post list. In the original post, I wrote that I wanted to try the switch on the inside which should lock the settings.
