Been re-reading the 1994-1995 run of Groo from Image, and I always loved how Sergio Aragones had Groo interacting with the Image logo on most of that run (not so much on #2 for some reason...)

So, not only is this 1972 THE COMIC READER cover of Jack Kirby's Demon Etrigan drawn by Don Rosa (@donrosa.org) drop dead gorgeous, but note the August 1972 date. First issue of the series only came out in June of 1972, so this is a very early fan drawing of the character

Great stuff. Love that b&w reprint, but we really need a colour reprint of all of the Giffen & Co. AMBUSH BUG stories

Upcoming new edition of Keiji Nakazawa's BAREFOOT GEN (HADASHI NO GEN) from Last Gasp looks promising. Five volumes (doubling up books from the previous 10 book version), so the first book will have the bombing of Hiroshima in the middle rather than near the end, which should work better

Back in the 1970s Sheldon Mayer worked up a proposal for a comic set in 1933, "Up In McWhistle's House". Nothing concrete ever became of it unfortunately, he was maybe too far ahead of his time, but what's available in public is fascinating

It was good to hear that Keiji Nakazawa's classic BAREFOOT GEN would be re-released in 2025, in a five volume hardcover omnibus edition from Last Gasp

Just heard that Raina Telgemeier and Scott McCloud have a collaboration coming out next year, THE CARTOONISTS CLUB. Certainly has the potential to be very good. Coming out in April of 2025

Comics today need more action, like the classics. Some boot polishing action would be nice.
