You never know when the last time you’ll do something is. The last hug. The last “I love you”. The last shared look. The last laugh together. Make as many as you can as often as you can.

Growing up where your actions created unsafe emotional reactions in those around you means you probably overthink how others are going to respond to what you do.

We’re all probably way harder on ourselves than most other people are And if somehow someone else is being harder on you, then we don’t need you beating you up too

I understand that a horse’s height is measured in hands, but do we know what sized hands they are?

We all started somewhere. We don’t all choose what we started with, but we do choose what we do with it all. We do choose where we want to go. And we do choose when we start.

We really don’t all have it all figured out. The name of the game is figuring it out together. And yet, it’s also sad that there are people committed to not being curious and not seeking to understand. There are people who will not want to figure it out with you. And ultimately that’s their choice.

We need to stop trading our humanity for convenience. Or control. Or capital gains.

Don’t let the fear of not getting it perfect stop you from taking a step towards what is good and right.

We love because we have love to give. Not to get something from someone else. Not to make our own lives better. Love is never about what we get from loving. Love is about loving.

We all have the power to create. We're all little creators. Of love. Of peace. Of hope. Of joy. Or hate and all the things that take away life. We have to create more of what we need in the world.

If I’m joking about it, I’m good. If I’m suddenly quiet about it, it’s probably a problem.

Taking advantage of others because others may take advantage of you and preemptively striking someone else because they may attack you give off the same energy and it is not a good look

We’re all a little wounded. And we’re all a little scared we may not get what we want or need. But there is enough to go around. And there is love in the healing and in the growing.

the letter of the law ought to evolve to maintain the spirit of the law within all the changes and growth and progression that has happened societally. it's not simply okay for people to do things just because the law allows them to do it or not.

one of the issues with capitalism is that the money never really makes it to where it needs to be. food security. public services. public health. public education. everyone cuts corners to find the competitive edge to win against humanity. yeah, one person got a lot of stuff. but at what cost?

If you grew up with inconsistent reactions to what you did, it’s tough to know how to trust. It’s hard to know how much or when to reach out to others. Your normal taught you that wasn’t safe. Your normal is figuring it out on your own. Your normal is your normal. But you can create something new.

just because it's happening doesn't excuse it or make it right. morality cannot be built on occurrence or command.

This is maybe not the life you thought you would have. And yet, it is the life that you do have. And wherever you are, there is still so much more to come.

There can be love that isn’t given perfectly. But there can be no love if giving love well isn’t what we aim for.

If you don’t do it, someone else is going to come along who will. Write the thing. Say the thing. Make the thing. Do the thing. Use the opportunities. Take the chances.

We can’t make anyone else do what we want them to. We can only love them where they are and where we are.

Sometimes we’re so worried we won’t be heard that we forget to listen

Stop defining what you do by what you think is everyone’s normal and start doing things because that’s the kind of life you want to live and world you want to leave behind

Until it happens, it’s not real. We can hope for the future and imagine what could be as fuel for how we choose to do things, but until it’s here it’s not. What is right now is what is. But it doesn’t have to be. And it won’t always be.

We never fully know what's going in someone else's life. Be curious. Be gentle. Be present.

Life is messy. Take care of each other.

Art moves people through empathy. The sense of being known and understood by others through shared experiences and emotions. But if you lack empathy, you’re not going to care about art. Or where it comes from. Because it’s pragmatic, not human.
