#SoFurryServerMoveUpdate We're updating our web framework to the latest version. Switched our offsite backup to a different method as it affected read performance. We switched to an internal CI/CD pipeline runner, which means we stopped using ext. build infrastructure to save cost. [1/2]

#SoFurryServerMoveUpdate A new volunteer developer joined the team, work is progressing on bugfixes & general things that just need to be done before going live. New off-site server is now syncing data which will take some time, but does not have to be 100% done before opening the doors. [1/2]

#SoFurryServerMoveUpdate We're in the process of fixing some important bugs before opening the site. SF2 users who never logged into SFX should now be able to recover their account if their password doesn't work (provided their email still works). [1/2]

#SoFurryServerMoveUpdate Good news: New hardware installed and working, good progress upgrading the cluster. Bad news: Our CPUs are pretty old by now and lack support for some modern features, so additional patching of various libraries is required. Not 100% sure yet if this will be successful.

Normally we would've done all that in the background, but the forced move made that impossible. Also, the business model of SF is to be there for the users. We don't have a budget, employees, or really a business. (handful of ad banners that don't cover the cost notwithstanding)

I have been on a business trip for the past week, with no chance to work on SF. Terra is still on a business trip. We're the two critical resources for this. Money isn't the issue right now, it's people. And it's more than just a server move, it's also about migration etc.

#SoFurryServerMoveUpdate Server has been moved to the new location and powered on. Now we have the following steps ahead of us: 1) Configure the new firewall 2) Set up a link to the SF2 database for importing 3) Perform the import for all users [1/2]

Unfortunately there's some issues with the replacement hardware. We don't have an updated estimate yet but it's pretty safe to say that this week probably won't happen... As usual we will give you an update as soon as we have any news. Thank you for your patience.

Small update: Replacement hardware has been delivered & we're waiting for installation. Since we're diagnosing this based on LEDs lighting up or not, we may need to replace another part. If we're lucky, SF may be back up this week. No guarantees however. Sorry for the trouble!
