I think people being upset over shows that have the message of "redemption is possible" IE Steven Universe or Hazbin Hotel, is an issue that stems from something much bigger. People don't like the idea of peace anymore. Either because they want severe punishment, or because they like hostility.

Okay so Mario Movie 2 I thought the main issue was the pacing. Scenes that should have had more were too short, and other scenes were randomly too long. I can see a more polished version of it that's great. But the one we got isn't horrible, either. Just kind of fun, for a first watch.
