Along with thousands of other USAID projects, our some of our work in Lesotho was terminated. Services included: 💊 HIV treatment for 128,240 people, include 1,700+ children 🏥 HIV testing for 3,165 pregnant women each quarter 🍼 HIV testing for 543 babies each quarter

Our work in Eswatini was recently terminated along with thousands of USAID projects. Lifesaving services were terminated including: 💊 HIV treatment for 85,000 people 🏥 HIV testing for 3,000 pregnant women each quarter 🍼 HIV testing for 1,300 babies each quarter

Just 30 years ago, preventing mother-to-child transmission of HIV seemed unfathomable. Today, it is possible around the world thanks to dedicated researchers, compassionate clinicians, courageous mothers, and sustained investment through programs like PEPFAR.

Caring for children starts with caring for mothers. When pregnant women living with HIV have access to essential preventative care, they can stop transmission and have HIV-free babies. But cuts to lifesaving foreign aid are putting mothers and their babies at risk.

Earlier this week, we were told some of our programs were terminated in error. But we cannot restart our programming until we receive payment for the work that has already been done, which to-date exceeds $5m. We are calling on leaders to release funding so we can get back to work.
