so you know, we've explored every possibility for funding. None of them are viable or good. Writers and editors are accustomed to working without pay and that's a crime. Pushing your costs on supporters is also a crime. The best we can do is ask people to give what they can if they can. With care.

So! We're very happy with the response to the micro-excerpt call! Some really good stuff you people have been sending us. Keep them coming, please! We've arranged a special issue (#63) to be released 18 January, a dark center of a dark winter month, & bright work emerging. This all makes us happy.

We're bringing back excerpt submissions from unpublished novels and novellas, but adding a criterion: 200 words max length. All other prose, fiction and poetry submissions still have no length limit.
