One of my favorite plants of 2024 was Klickitat lomatium (Lomatium klickitatensis), an endemic to the Klickitat watershed near the Columbia Gorge. It has a small range but is abundant within it, covering the slopes above the river. The anise swallowtails were loving it.

In 2023, I traveled to every corner of WA & visited some of the rarest plants in the state--a wild adventure. Feeling fortunate to work with many smart people doing great conservation work. 2024 is sure to be a wild ride, but I'm glad to have good company for the journey.
