I ran into recommendations for Immortal Hulk on YouTube and picked it up. It’s a fun horror take on The Hulk that I am enjoying. I don’t follow Ewing and Bennett, but I just realized Ewing wrote Zombo, one of my fav 2000 AD characters, and Bennett was the 90s artist half of Moore’s Supreme.

There is so much creativity and intrigue clearly conveyed through character design in this one panel introduction to the Cabal. What’s up with the head in a box? Dapper giant or ancient giant - how about both? From the first issue of The Sixth Gun: Battle For The Six by Cullen Bunn and Brian Hurtt.

A really fantastic month in comic books. All of these were great - I think Garth Ennis and Becky Cloonan’s “The War” just might be my favorite Ennis story and I am glad it got a second chance outside its original anthology release.

I just (last night) read the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man series for the first time, and commented out loud that “Peter David wrote the HELL out of that series.” Remembering his “But I Digress” column from the 90s, he always struck me as the Roger Ebert of comics and his humor will be missed.

I just bought two runs of Mike Wieringo Spider-Man comics. Somehow I’ve never read them - they came out at times that I had moved away from superhero comics. Waid/Wieringo Fantastic Four is one of my favs, so I’m looking forward to these.
