“Delighted to be invited” to a stylish bash in London last night to celebrate Elaine Paige’s Damedom after her investiture. Also ran into old pal Rob Dickins, former chairman of Warner Records. The older we all get, the better we keep telling each other we look! 🥳

It took 5 MONTHS, allowing for breaks, to write this 38-minute symphony. We will have just 5 HOURS, allowing for breaks, to record it, sight-unseen by the musicians! I'm relying on the @londonsymphony.bsky.social legendary sight-reading to make it happen! 🥳🎶 @Republic_Media

Old files! I don’t even remember writing this to Art Garfunkel. (1987). But I do remember fighting hard to get the film producers to take the song seriously. Even then, getting radio to play it was like pulling teeth. They said it was “too slow”. Nothing changes!
