Getting ready to attempt to dye and old costume today. We’ll see how it goes. If I ruin her, it’s not a huge loss — the construction isn’t all that great to begin with, and previous attempts to sell this very niche costume went nowhere. If this doesn’t go well I’m no worse off.

If not for cosplay competitions, I would not still be cosplaying. I would have stopped LONG ago. They gave me a place, and a purpose.

Spent most of the day doing digital cluttering/re-organizing — all of my discord servers I manage got clean ups, re-organizing and re-formatting. It felt really satisfying to be able to look at them and find them easier to navigate now.

I have a paper-hoarding problem. It’s just such a useful thing to have, especially when acquired for free. … but now I feel like I need a paper mache armor project or something.

I hate how much my energy is tied to sunlight. The sun starts going down, and my motivation starts to dry up too. But, I have a massive pile of laundry to fold, and I need to exercise and shower…

The thing I meant to do today: Continue the work organizing/purging my craft room — something that was put on hold all week due to pain and needing to shorten Mom’s pants. What I ended up doing instead: rolling out of bed, and starting a deep-clean of parts of my house (and ALL the laundry).

Been working at the ongoing craft-supply condensing and re-organizing. I haven’t Purged much yet, but I HAVE still cleared some space just front re-organizing and changing how I sort/categorize things.

Unpopular opinion: It is true that you are under no obligation to educate people. However, it’s kind of yucky to berate a person who doesn’t have the same knowledge base as you. That’s unfair to them AND the issue/cause/whatever you don’t want to educate them about.

Ginko progress as of tonight. Hoping tomorrow I can add the sleeves, maybe the facings/collar? Trying to get the sewing on this done by the end of the month. Once the blazer is done I can draft the skirt (need the jacket to see how long I can make the yoke on the skirt) and then the Dickie.

Dealing with a fully-expected headache today, but I don’t have time to skip out on working on things anymore. So I’m working on pieces that require no real thought. Bias tape, flat-lining, maybe cutting out and stitching together my bodice lining.

In other news, I moved/consolidated the tub of stuff I need to re-home, into the front closet with the costume that need photographing and re-homing. That will be a project for March, but at least I got the stuff out of my way for more immediate needs.

This week has been so incredibly cursed that I have not been able to bring myself to touch my cosplay for fear of wasted time and materials. But, I NEED to get back on track, like, now.

This week has been… R O U G H. I had a massive sob fest 2 nights ago and I’m still feeling some of the after affects, I think I injured my face.

My shell for my bodice was deemed an unsalvageable failure when I took another look this morning. I’ll be tackling attempt #3 tomorrow. I need to get this functional, because I’m so afraid I am going to have to remake the pieces for the Ring trim…

Ya know I don’t have any feelings one way or another on Taylor Swift. I’m not a fan, which is not to say I dislike her but to say that her FANS are kind of out there and I am not them.

Booked myself a hotel room for a con in March but don’t know if I’ll actually be able to pull it off. It depends how much I have done by the middle of January.

Just trusting the process. It’s a lot of work, and my neck is a wreck so I have to pause, but the work is worth it for the look. I’m learning a lot and will know exactly how to do my new Chibiusa wig later, along with my own up-do wigs! I’ve seen improvement as I progress.
