Ginko progress as of tonight. Hoping tomorrow I can add the sleeves, maybe the facings/collar? Trying to get the sewing on this done by the end of the month. Once the blazer is done I can draft the skirt (need the jacket to see how long I can make the yoke on the skirt) and then the Dickie.

Dealing with a fully-expected headache today, but I don’t have time to skip out on working on things anymore. So I’m working on pieces that require no real thought. Bias tape, flat-lining, maybe cutting out and stitching together my bodice lining.

In other news, I moved/consolidated the tub of stuff I need to re-home, into the front closet with the costume that need photographing and re-homing. That will be a project for March, but at least I got the stuff out of my way for more immediate needs.

This week has been so incredibly cursed that I have not been able to bring myself to touch my cosplay for fear of wasted time and materials. But, I NEED to get back on track, like, now.

This week has been… R O U G H. I had a massive sob fest 2 nights ago and I’m still feeling some of the after affects, I think I injured my face.

My shell for my bodice was deemed an unsalvageable failure when I took another look this morning. I’ll be tackling attempt #3 tomorrow. I need to get this functional, because I’m so afraid I am going to have to remake the pieces for the Ring trim…

Ya know I don’t have any feelings one way or another on Taylor Swift. I’m not a fan, which is not to say I dislike her but to say that her FANS are kind of out there and I am not them.

Booked myself a hotel room for a con in March but don’t know if I’ll actually be able to pull it off. It depends how much I have done by the middle of January.

Just trusting the process. It’s a lot of work, and my neck is a wreck so I have to pause, but the work is worth it for the look. I’m learning a lot and will know exactly how to do my new Chibiusa wig later, along with my own up-do wigs! I’ve seen improvement as I progress.

Doin’ a wee bit of chores — not everything, but trying to get some of the worst piled-up stuff cleared so I can get back to crafting.

‘Booty’ and ‘butt’ are synonyms. ‘Call’ and ‘dial’ are synonyms. But, a ‘booty call’ and a ‘butt dial’ are VERY different things.

Needs varnish/sealant, the crystal, and she’s done. I’ve been feeling Not Great about the costumes I’m working on, so I hope that attitude changes soon. I’m not sure what hump I need to get over to feel good again…

Wrapping foam forms in hair is a long, annoying process. Hoping that the end result is still good (and that I haven’t made the bottom hole too small to fit over the bottle stub, or I’ll have to make something else for that.

I will never understand parents who do not want their kids to watch anything that contains portrays of darkness/evil/bad things. Like, they’re portrayed AS BAD THINGs in the media and that is the point???? How do you teach people to recognize evil if you never expose them.

I think I cut off some of this hair TOO short… so, doing some triage, heavily gluing some lace on top of the cut area. Just hoping to make a base to glue the batting to. @_@

Started the work to grind down the details on the back of this wand… because the one I started with had the details on both sides, but canonically that’s not how it is.

I’m shocked this wig cut turned out this good. Took me 3 hours to cut and shape the back, but it’s done! Tomorrow… airbrush. 😬

Figuring out my goals for this month, in terms of Making. I think my focus is going to be wigs, and mock-ups/small accessories, so I don’t have too large of messes. I’m trying to decide which wig to work on first : Momohime, or Usagi. Technically, I need Usagi first (Halloween weekend).

What a difference crimping makes.

My brain may be attempting to over-correct for a feeling of inadequacy by thinking maybe I should INTENTIONALLY enter this contest with something I know would never get past the Jury round (because I have an auto-in this year). Like, is it better to do something I know isn’t Enough to begin with.

These won’t last. They will need repair/touch-ups after every wear, if I get more than one wear out of them. I just had to add some more caulk and will need another round of paint, but they will be called “done” by the end of the day. I’m making that call before o needlessly sink more time.

When you have a pair of unused shoes that are nearing natural end of life… you don’t feel bad getting a little crazy experimenting with them.

URGENT INFORMATION FOR ANYONE WHO WAS AT ANIME EXPO 2025

Tonight’s recording attempts were a failure. I’m going to need more practice figuring out the best way to record on my phone after dark. Tonight’s attempt ended up blown out. Color correction I can do, but you can’t fix over-exposure in post.

I bought this cheap little orange Buddha years ago for my half-bath in my condo (the color scheme was gray and orange). I recently discovered it in a box that never got unpacked, but the color no longer matches my house. So, I repainted it. :)

I’m So tired these days, y’all. I am trying to get my house to a baseline cleaned up tonight, but it’s almost time to water the plants and shower and omg where does the time go.

I’m so tired… lately I’ve had my evenings just VANISH doing random chores or tasks and I’m not getting to bed before 11-11:30 and I’m freaking exhausted because of it. I could cry, I’m so tired.

Nothing like taking a shower at Midnight just because I realized I changed my sheets today and I refuse to get into Fresh Sheets with anything but a Clean body and hair.

Thankfully, for filming my Stash Reviews, I think I’m going for a nearly-overhead angle, with just my hands in the shot.

Still cleaning house today, but hoping to get to the point of CRAFTING today. Or at least pre-crafting. (I want to film some stash reviews of my materials for future costume vlogs)

Basically “finished” the closet! I need a few organization items but I’m waiting for them to be delivered. I have an extra “short” shelf and wish I had another “long” one… I would exchange it if that didn’t feel like a pain.

Y’all, I’m so damn tired… I’m not getting enough sleep lately (not getting to bed early enough) and been so busy I can feel myself wearing down. But I can’t take a break, there’s too much to do…

Closet progress. The doors are all painted now (they were unfinished in these photos) — tonight my Dad is supposed to come over and put in the baseboard (we had to replace a section that was notched out from a previous weird wood-block installation).

While everyone else was at cons this weekend, I’ve been renovating my closet. I’m nearly done with painting the doors … I’m determined to have those done before bed, but it’s already 9 and my brain is so confused because it’s barely sunset.

Decided getting up early tomorrow is the better idea. I can exercise to start my day, then shower, make myself pretty, and then I can do/film a lot for a lot of things. (Putting on any makeup is a pain for short periods)

I was going to finish my office tonight, but since I’m filming I also did not feel like putting on makeup. Decide instead I’m going to go to bed early, and get up early.
