#MCAtlanta was so much fun! It was my first ever Magiccon and it was so cool to meet such nice and amazing people. I loved the feeling on excitement from everyone. The Loremaster Monarch and the D00-DL Off were some of the highlights of my time there! It felt awesome to meet fellow Vorthoses!

Some cool stuff I’ve seen at Magic Con.

Hearing the conversations around the con, I think heavily enfranchised online folks significantly overestimate how much their opinions on Universes Beyond are shared by the wider player base. This is not a value judgment of any opinion in particular: just being reminded of that myself, too.

Okay but seriously I need to do a custom version of this that’s me and Arjun.

It was a fun email to get. For context: Novel development takes a lot longer than web fiction, and so what Seanan was doing worldbuilding wise could impact things that usually wouldn’t be defined so far out. And yes, I do have a Strixhaven specific timeline to keep the school years straight.

People say they want Magic novels back. That we want the web fiction, which is free, to co-exist with paid, longer works that have a stricter editorial schedule and require Wizards to lock down a single author long periods of time. We get that by proving we're willing to pay for it.

The single best thing you can do for Magic fiction right now, even if you don't read YA, don't like Arcavios, or personally hate me as a writer, is pre-ordering this book. That sends a message. A very clear one, that is unlikely to be ignored.
