Design for the era you want to be published in, not the one you presently inhabit

Technically the most engagement I ever got on self-published writing was from my hypno smut era but, alas, self loathing and post-dissertation burnout teamed up to smother the muse on that one some time ago.

Would anyone like to read a story if I posted it to dracula.church? It was originally going to be part of my sprawling *novel* project but makes more sense as its own thing. Plus stylistically it's way more in the vein of my earlier, more overtly Lovecraftian work.

A not inconsiderable part of wanting to go back into academia is finding out if I can just get all my news through Gale and general information via the university library online services and just basically never have to interact with normal internet ever again.

Toggled reader mode on an article and got immediately bounced back to the unreadable ad-filled hell version because it turns out that's a thing now.

Declaring final day on my PhD proposal tomorrow. My chances of securing funding are looking excepionally bleak but at least in my correspondences with various referees and potential supervisors I seem to be being taken seriously and treated like a peer of sorts. Getting loopy to celebrate.
