Happy
#WomensHistoryMonth
! As co-founder of the Women's Studies Association at the University of Florida, we started the first Women's History Month celebration at UF. One year, we brought Maya Angelou to speak. Hearing her recite "And Still I Rise" and "Phenomenonal Woman" was a lifetime highlight.

Natan Sharansky was born Anatoly Shcharansky in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR, in 1948 to a Jewish family. In the Soviet Union, Jews faced restrictions: religion was discouraged, emigration denied, and openly Jewish identity could limit education and careers.
