You know what doesn't improve your mood one bit when you come into the studio, piss-wet through after walking in a rainstorm? Having to answer, "Ooooh! Did you get a bit wet?" five times.

It's that time of year again, folks!

What's staggering to me is, Beano feels like an ancient publication, the likes of which a noob like me could never make a dent in... But I've now been contributing for over 11 per cent of its lifespan (since 2016). And I still feel like a noob!

Chased the delivery driver down the drive. "Hi! We have two pizzas! I ordered one!" He said I could keep it, but maybe give him a slice. So I did, laughing. In the process, he touched two other slices, which I binned. Went back into the house. Checked the app. I'd accidentally ordered two pizzas.

I've had to go to great lengths not to have to say or endorse the term "picky bits" this festive season. Absolutely effing REFUSE.

I try to only drink in the months of July-December, which creates a huge logistical nightmare of either consuming all the drinks in time for Jan 1st, or filing away the ones that will keep.

When someone says "Happy New Year" after about Jan 8th:
