Don't mistake deindustrialisation for emissions reduction. This chart tells a huge story of our times: we closed down our coal mines, steelworks and factories only to import products from abroad as well. We're still consuming the C02 even if we aren't producing it.

Housing movement 🤝 Climate movement But we need more links between the two. Advancing an energy transition which prioritises energy justice also means housing justice. Better quality, warmer homes = better for the climate, our health and our pockets. We need more, better, affordable homes.

We can’t understand the geography of capitalism in our present moment without seeing how these old industries overlap with the new. "Two Towns" features an interactive map showing how ex-industrial towns were not “left behind” but actively made into havens for low-paid work.
