I think I figured out how I want to handle monster sentience in my B/X zelda hexcrawl. They monsters started out essentially non sentient but over the past 3 years the monsters have started getting noticeably smarter.

I am thinking more about my big old B/X legend of zelda hex crawl I am working on, I want to write a dungeon for it but also I feel like I need to work on monsters first and hammer out how sentient a bokoblin is.

#petravoretheconjuress Petravore awakes to a fat drop of water on her forehead. The humidity of yesterday had broken into a smattering of rain down. As she gathered hew few remaining belongings she began to worry, a cold spring night with her soaked could lead to illness fast.

#petravoretheconjuress Waking up in the morning she collects her few belongings and heads to the west following the river. Tracing it back to it's source she finds herself taking frequent rests with the uncharacteristically muggy spring morning.

#petravoretheconjuress With the sun setting the few guards greet her. They are weary but see she carries with her no weapons besides a simple axe they let her past the gates of the castle, not wishing to see her become a meal to something lurking in the dark.

#petravoretheconjuress She awoke amongst the savannah, trees mingle with grasses as the sun paints the morning sky. Her head pounds as surveys what she can see, the early morning light filters from dense woods to the east, north of her hills roll, a swamp to the west.

I think I am gonna actually for real get back into doing my solo game of wilderlands in dungeon crawl classics. I am gonna start on the mainlands and also with a wizard again because the table of spell locations is a good jumping off point.

I am starting back up on soloing the wilderlands of high fantasy in dungeon crawl classics, having taken a day break after the death of Helane of Thross. Here is my new character, Eiros the Prophesier.

#helaneofthross The night passes uneventfully, with the group finding a small inn named the the Drunken Chimera, her fellow travelers pay a gold piece to house them all. Loden is kept under a heavy cloak as to not reveal his mutated state.

In my solo wilderlands hexcrawl I encountered a thief named Akurion the Slaver, she hates my character for being a wizard and I as a person hate her for her name, looking forward to getting a chance to fucking her over.

#helaneofthross As the night went on she noticed light's and smoke from a town directly north of her. Not wishing to ford the river she follows it upstream into the hills. There she finds an adventuring party of 7 or so huddled around a wounded beastman.

#helaneofthross Helane wakes in the middle of the woods. Her head pounds, she doesn't know where she is or what she was doing before hand. Unwilling to die in the woods she begins heading north, finding her way into a grasslands with a river heading east. She sets up camp, 4 rations left.
