Maybe hot take but I do not want a Splatoon 4 for at least another 2 years. 3 right now feels so close to being the peak of the series and I'm really hoping if anything is shown tomorrow (I dont think there will be), that it's an content extension.

My #1 hope for map design in S4 is maps are no longer designed for every single mode, we do not need 100+ map mode combos we need 30-50 higher quality combos. I'd gladly take 10-15 stages for every mode if it means the maps could be built around that experience.

Playing marvel rivals made me realize how much I missed prime overwatch and the 6v6 game format in general

[1/3🧵] SoloQ splatoon (series/open/X) has felt so bad ever since they began making reefslider cheesy. After that most, if not all the games I play are either based off spamming specials and subs or hardcarrying my team against 3 shitters and another good player.

The skill difference in open and series is so big nowadays that JP X rank is the only mode where you don’t consistently play against 10 year olds tunnel visioning the objective

While I think pre 9.0 meta was pretty fun with the midline stuff now that the current stuff has developed more I feel confident in calling this easily the best meta the splatoon series has ever had, I don't even think its particularly close either honestly. Not perfect but the game is so fun rn.

I'm surprised by this with how accessible getting into comp videos are on youtube like DUDE's videos, which for many was their way to get into comp. You've always needed to dive into alot of new stuff when getting in, so it's cool that some are able to take it more chill

yall why haven't u left twitter in the dirt already i feel like most drama shi comes specifically from Twitter and i feel like most of the time it's not even compsplatoon when i open twitter it got content to make you mald even outside of splatoon and the way it boosts negative posts too

Top players expressing how they feel about the game, just for Twitter to go into a doomposting streak about how comp is dead, is one of the many things that are wrong with this scene. This should be a call for improvement, but some people would rather act like giving up and dampen the mood further.

but, I do think the amount of tournaments just further accentuates the problem. the scene is growing overall, but doesn't feel like it because it is so bottom heavy. more and more players are getting into the game, which is lovely but people higher up leave and there is noone to fill those shoes

It feels like comp is in a state where it just "feels dead" there's been a growing influx of players but people are spread thin especially with tournaments these days. I'm not sure if this is players not wanting to enter non skill capped events like ITZ or just the sheer amount of events.
