When anxiety shakes us, God invites deeper trust. Even in alarm, He does not remove our confidence - He refines it. Turn to prayer with tenderness. Trust grows there, and hope steadies the heart.

We have asked previously what it means to be a Catholic in this country at this moment. The American hierarchy has begun to answer the question and it cannot be surprising that the answer is more challenging than comforting.

Editorial: The church speaks out. A new era has dawned.
It is a new level of opposition for American cardinals to formally question the fundamental morality of an administration's engagement with the world.

The video had millions of views. Thankfully, many of my fellow Catholics were screaming at him in the comments, but no words seemed strong enough. A myriad of angry responses went through my mind in quick succession.

In Case No One Told You, Racism Is A Sin
For the record, in case there was any doubt, racism is a sin. It may not be one of those sins you hear sermons about here in America...

When the future feels uncertain, place your hope where it belongs. God is good. God is faithful. His promises do not fail. Trust Him with today - and let that trust light the way forward.

Renee Good’s final words to the ICE agent were: “That’s fine, dude. I’m not mad at you.” A woman facing a harassment still chose calm over rage. Her words now call for justice, accountability, and a world where no one meets power like that at the end of a barrel.

It feels like the end of an era. Easter Monday, April 21, 2025, Pope Francis went to his eternal home. But in the thirteen years of his papacy, he has left a mark on the Catholic Church and the world ...

More photos via Reuters of today’s profoundly touching moments in St. Peter’s Basilica with Pope Francis. Smallness, littleness, fragility. There is where God resides.

A 🧵 for the Solemnity of the Mother of God. Since I was a child I’ve been fascinated by Mary’s pondering. I always wanted to know what she was pondering, and what treasures she was holding in her heart. If I’m honest, I would still like to know.

People are asking: “Are you ready for Christmas?” Well, the Holy Family wasn’t ready either, there was no room at the Inn, no crib for a bed, yet it all worked out. Happy Birthday, Jesus! Have a blessed Christmas everyone.

The Church needs a whole new ethic, a whole new theology, a whole new teaching in the Catechism when it comes to LGBTQ folks. This "intrinsically disordered" ethic is not only insufficient but dehumanizing and intrinsically flawed.
