They would never be in a history book but thinking today of my 4th grade teacher, Mrs Dean, & my 8th grade lang arts teacher, Mrs Archer. Both incredible teachers who attended & first taught in segregated schools. I am fortunate to have started school after integration to have them as my teachers.

I’m not a great cook but I am good at googling ingredients and finding a recipe that includes things I have and then cooking that.

Went for a hike today at #Chautauquaboulder. (McClintock/ Mesa / Enchanted Mesa trails.) Didn’t take a photo but was my first real hike of 2025. Great to be on a trail.

Thirty years ago I imagined the old Soviet Union becoming like US with freedoms of speech, press, religion, etc - a ‘new world order’ we were told. But instead we have become Russia w/ our own crazy Putin threatening to annex our neighbors and a bunch of rich Oligarchs looking to get even richer.

Listened to @lafayettepodcast.com while cleaning my gutters this morning. The first episode reminded me of all the research I did on Lafayette at UGA. I wonder if I can find my senior paper from 38 years ago.

The only way I can see surviving the next few years is to: Love my neighbors. Build community. Care for those in need.
