Same response early on the season from Howe was that Woltemade was a 9 and that’s how he viewed him when signing him. Not ridiculous to say when he’s Germany’s number 9. Now being used as a 10, not that he can’t play there, but again I question whether we are getting the best out of him. 1/ #NUFC

Quality from Anderson has stopped us from winning there. We should have scored more though, not a bad shift but disappointing result. We created our better chances against a settled defence when we went back to the 4-3-3 though. Doesn’t mean I want the ending to the 4-2-3-1 though. #nufc

Got a lot of admiration for Arteta and what he’s created at Arsenal. They’re so well coached and the culture he’s created is brilliant, so much fight in that team.

Look the finish is poor but that is top movement from Wissa. A great reference point for a Cf when the ball is central is to stay diagonal to the ball. Wissa remains diagonal when Willock and then Woltemade gets it. Goals will come for Wissa.

I love speaking about tactics. Especially when it comes to my own team, basically what my whole account on here is based around. A big frustration of mine recently with Newcastle has been that it’s been pointless to speak about tactics as the players aren’t putting the effort in. #NUFC

Two mistakes in a m2m press before the goal and then Murphy loses his man when we go m2m for the second goal. Too frequently do our players switch off late in games, it was a better second half but once again individual errors are occurring. Mentally the group is in the mud. #NUFC

It’s going to look messy today as I think it will every game until the end of the season. Neither team will have much control today but my god it would be nice to be on the right end of the result, everyone needs a confidence boost. Could really do with an early goal.

I haven’t watched a full 90 in a few months but I’ve seen a few comps over on X and I bloody love watching Rory Finneran for the #nufc 21’s. Tidy on the ball, cool under pressure, good forward facing defending and tactically smart. I wonder what the more trained eyes at the club think of him.

These two screenshot’s perfectly sums up our first half struggles. - Palace blocking out central space well - Space between defenders and forwards is too large due to the same vertical movements from forward players - Joelinton comes “ball to feet” and Botman hesitates. Confidence? #NUFC

Very few positives to take away from that game yesterday but once again I was impressed by Ramsey. Why he didn’t start is beyond me but a brilliant cameo from him. Was positive in nearly every action, was wanting the ball in tight spaces and looked for creative routes through Palace. 1/ #NUFC

Mentality is in the absolute mud

Been thinking quite a lot about Wissa and actually how frustrating his season has been for us. Wissa’s best attribute is his movement and finishing, especially in the box (77/90 shots came from in the box last season). 1/ #NUFC

Brentford season is entirely down to how stable off of the pitch the football club is. Consistent, with mature structures and leadership that helped them see through the bumps of losing manager/best player. Looking forward to seeing #nufc leadership team be stable & build.

Playing with some of the tools we're developing at work & I can now do a direct comparison of Woltemade versus Gordon when playing a striker in the EPL. Wouldn't normally add so many flavours of goals, the discourse demands. I like both players, but can see why AG is getting the nod atm #NUFC
