So now that 2025 is over, I can compare the performance of Monsters of Mican for the full year, and see that its sales have gone up 20% compared to last year! Most indie games do the bulk of their sales at launch, so I'm pretty impressed by this YoY gain, driven primarily by updates I suppose!

People get hung up on "I don't know how to write a good review" but honestly you don't need paragraphs of analysis and observations. Don't compare yourself to a journalist. "I loved it!" or "I had fun" are equally valid reviews, AND matter just as much to the Steam algorithm to support game devs!

My final interview for 2025 is now up. Bloober Team has been doing a lot on Nintendo Switch and now Switch 2 and they seem to want to do a lot more. I usually don't expect much when interviewing the CEO for any developer, but I'm very happy with this one.

I started another (cheap!) round of reddit ads. I tend to see a lot more engagement from reddit than anywhere else for my game, but most subreddits have rules against too much (or any) self promotion, so instead we need to resort to ads. No idea if it's worth the ROI but I guess it's worth trying!
