The leader fills government posts with loyalists and disregards qualifications. Qualified people are removed from posts and replaced with loyalists, oftentimes wholly unqualified for the positions. Sometimes even as a reward for loyalty. Sound familiar? #TrumpIsANationalDisgrace #resistance

Fascist governments tend to promote and tolerate open hostility to higher education, and academia. It is not uncommon for professors and other academics to be censored or even arrested. Free expression in the arts is openly attacked, and governments often refuse to fund the arts. #resistance

This one is a current event. Kimmel’s firing represents both the suppression of opposing voices and the exertion of control over the media. And it isn’t just there: demands that people be fired for speaking in a way not in accord with the official party line are the same. #resistance

We are seeing this everywhere right now: Military deployed to cities, political and corporate elites not stepping up to stop it. And we’ve watched years of violence be glorified as well as laws being passed to allow drivers to drive through protestors. We a very well along in this phase. #resistance

We see this one with the President’s latest declaration that “Antifa” as a terrorist organization. Antifa isn’t an organization, it’s an idea: anti-FASCISM. We fought a world war over it. It is critical to stop the march towards fascism before the imprisonments and murders start. #ResistFascism

Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored because of "need." This is precisely what we are seeing with ICE rounding up and deporting thousands of people to random authoritarian countries without due process.

Another way of saying this: Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause. The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial, ethnic minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc. #ResistFascism

The idea here is to make people feel like the country is not only in decline, but that it was so much better before. This is literally what MAGA stands for. We aren’t seeing a lot of humiliation speak but Lord almighty are they pressing home the victimhood, specifically white male victimhood.

Can you imagine the dysfunction in your office to first get rejected as the legal representative for a government agency, then to sue to try and get the opportunity to screw up that representation. Serious #pickme energy here. 🙄

It means you question the truth to make up your own version of reality - like there is an explosion in crime; you prop up myths (mythical version of America was great) and instigate rage (against immigrants, over Kirk’s death, over crime); and you lie constantly, as the Pres does. #ResistFascism

Designating citizens as "enemies of the state" is a core tenet of fascism and other totalitarian ideologies. It serves to justify the erosion of legal rights and the violent suppression of any perceived opposition by creating an "us vs. them" mentality.

Not gonnna lie here: we’re a little dumbfounded that a prominent ID Dem would take part in such an obvious propaganda stunt on the same day the UN declared that Israel is committing genocide in Palestine. Aiding in perpetuating this awful behavior does nothing for either side’s safety and security.

It was a phenomenal screw up. Just phenomenal. Cost thousands of workers immediate jobs, and will end up costing many, many more jobs down the line. The hate fueled incompetence of this administration is shocking.
