*the button box comes to me. I have the craft item Funny but bittersweet story: when my mom was in hospice, shortly before she passed, she told me and my sister “no fighting.” We knew what she meant. But we jokingly said “only over the button box!” That was the last time I heard her laugh 🥲

My sweet sister made this for me last Christmas and it has pride of place now. It’s hand sewn buttons from our gr-grandma, grandma & mom’s prized button box. It comes to me but I have to go back to retrieve it. Most prized possession I could ever have. So many memories.

I really need positive thoughts for my big girl, Pippa. She’s our 14-yr-old hound. She just had a traumatic event we are helping her through, but she is not herself 😢 We’re trying to get her to eat anything, by cooking lots of meat etc. We can’t force her to take antibiotics bc of the trauma.

So today I learned that a spotted hound has spotted skin under that fur. Pippa had to have a minor shave on half of her face today, and she looks like she is full of bruises. But it’s just all the spots on her skin showing up (thankfully). Your fur will grow back, sweetheart
