One more watercolor from last night’s session. (I’ve been playing more with oil pastels lately too, I’ll post a few of those soon.)

Proud to say I’ve been drawing my butt off this year! I burned thru one of the 5.5x8 sketchbooks I tote around in just two months — usually takes me a year. But now I’m staring at a new blank sketchbook, trying to get started…

Feel like I’ve been swingin’ and missin’ with the figure drawing lately, except I still like these little watercolor sketches I’m making. (Derwent “Graphitint” paints, infused with graphite!)

Here’s me at the Scarab Club recently with Lila Kadaj, my one-time art teacher at Wayne State, and now a friend and one of my favorite local creatives. (She liked my sketchbook, which was hugely gratifying.)

Another recent watercolor doodle I’ve become fond of since doing it. “Wrong” in interesting ways only I could manage, which is all I ever ask of a drawing anymore.
