I had a great time this week with my UMaine colleagues coring Green Lake! We’ll study the sediment cores to learn more about the deglacial history of the region. We took home many meters of mud, which should keep us busy in the lab for a while!

@paleobluedot.bsky.social, our daughter, my father, and I all visited the Musk Ox Farm in Palmer, Alaska, today. My dad served as Director of the farm in the early 90s and as a kid I got to give tours and replace fence posts during the summers. Great to see these amazing #Pleistocene fauna again!

On the cork-board outside my office door, I keep these reminders copied from @charliemackesy.bsky.social's beautiful book. My mom gave The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and the Horse to my daughter last year, and it has become one of our favorites. A lovely book to give to anyone of any age, I think.
