Josh Fogarty's splendid artwork, a suitable compliment to Ger Eaton's Season Changes. Baroque pop sounds in excelsis. A magnificent achievement.

Tonight's entertainment is John Carpenter's The Fog (1980) , getting a one-off screening at Cineworld , marking its 45th anniversary , as part of a horror season. It was February 1981 before it appeared in Dublin in a double bill with A Man, A Woman, and A Bank (1979)

Somehow I seem to have set up two Bluesky accounts. I guess I better stick with the one with the most followers & will cancel this one.

Martello supporting Dark Tropics Whelan's 11 October 2025 Interesting, confidently expressed tunes. 'Arcade' particularly good.

Paul Gorman's Granny Takes A Trip, 'High Fashion and High Times At The Wildest Rock 'N' Roll Boutique '. Another fabulous looking book, rich in detail & imagery, like Paul's previous tomes about The Face & Barney Bubbles and other topics. Company Of Books, Ranelagh

In 1978, the photographer Chalkie Davies took a set of photos of Costello outside the Hoover building. There's more info on Chalkie's site Elvis Costello - Hoover Factory — Chalkie Davies

The Long Ryders. Whose brief flirtation with the UK singles chart started this week in 1985. Looking For Lewis And Clark was at number 63. It would go to 59. Heady heights. Now airing on the Late Show, home of the hits. No matter what number.

Hey!! It's i-nichi !! With Seiko on the guitar. On their new LP, they have the cheek to do a version of Arnold Layne... it's just as well that it's brilliant. And some top notch guitar playing from Billy Shinbone. Now on the radio round here
