As a freelance rigger, I need to make sure my builds have a lot of flexibility. So I've recently reworked my lid modules to add variable joint counts. Higher joint counts for fidelity and control, lower counts for simplicity and optimization. Or I can test and iterate to find a happy middle ground

Only I can see this? We'll see about that

King Krush is here! I've been working for Superseed Studios, in collaboration with the team at Blizzard, to build the rig for Hearthstone's first pet. He was a fun and unique challenge, balancing rig flexibility and expression controls with low joint and polygon counts

Figure out your hourly rate, then add 10% on top for income taxes etc. an extra 10% for GST if you are eligible. (Aus advice) When you give yourself a pay rise, every other artist gets one and it's harder for the industry to undervalue us. If you intentionally undercharge you hurt us all.

This weekend we worked with a wonderful animator to bring our 3D model of our poster boy, Scorn, to life. We can't show you the deets because it's pure RnD at this stage. But heeere's a hint:

Proper joint placement and orientation is essential to good rigging. My joint guide system uses poly planes to help streamline this process, a relatively simple feature. These pieces of geometry are attached to each joint, stretch with their length and can be scaled up independently #rigtip
