Fixed the RSS feed for my website notes this morning. @11ty.dev makes it super easy to do. Except I got caught out by caching. I must remember that dates are cached in JSON as strings. 🤦

I hate to say it but I wouldn't have been able to reset the MacBook without Claude. Both an IT company and Apple told me I wouldn't be able to unlock the machine without the recovery key. It saved the day.

I have an old MacBook which is stuck in mobile device management limbo. It's been removed from MDM and Apple Business Manager but nobody has a recovery key. Performing surgery to see if I can sort it.

I want to stay up and make my workflow support posting threaded messages but it’s late and I’m old. I’m going to have to write a blog post about this too. POSSE for the win.

I've just spent the past 2 hours trying to get Tailscale to work on my son's phone. A frustrating experience as logging in with his Apple account meant it created a user that could never log into my Tailnet. Lots of Reddit and GitHub rabbit holes and eventually using a different account. 0/10 fun.

Gary Barlow was in the year above and did O-Level music with my mate. Walked home with him a few times. Genuinely lovely bloke at school and he was a great performer.

I had to do this again today and it was still painful. I hit a repeated error where it wouldn’t connect to the new network and found a Reddit post that said “put your phone into airplane mode and then turn on the WiFi only”. And it worked. 🤷‍♀️

In this day and age, why do we need to factory reset a Google Nest Hub and Google Nest doorbell in order to change a Wi-Fi network? Had to install a new router at my mum's and most of my time has been spent trying to get the Google devices to reconnect. Shocking user experience! 😠

Just tried Cursor for the first time. I wanted to refactor some code which can pass a single ID to a licence server rather than a JSON payload of features. It's done a lot of refactoring including the tests and complete deleted the axios client. It then argued with me that it hadn't. 🤷‍♂️

I booked last week off work to extend and enjoy the long Easter weekend in the UK. Instead I’ve spent the past 5 days with gastroenteritis. I’m a bit bored of it now and it doesn’t seem to be abating. Thankfully the doctor confirmed it’s not a sepsis-inducing infection like last time.

I spent the evening dogfooding @n8n.io to learn more about building AI agents. I might sound biased but I'm blown away by how simple it was to get started and build something robust. I've connected Telegram voice + text messages to update @todoist.com, read Gmail emails, and my Google Calendar. 🤩

Playing around with @n8n.io to post my website-hosted RSS feed of notes to Bluesky (and eventually other platforms). I've been meaning to do it for a while. You add a created date to the payload so you can post messages in the past. I didn't know this.

I spent a couple of hours playing with @astro.build last night and it was a wonderful experience. The new (to me) typed content layers made it super simple to get a bunch of JSON files into pages. Looking forward to exploring more over the weekend.

Very excited to take my 17-year-old son to see Vampire Weekend in Manchester tonight. I've never seen them live either. I'm sure they'll be incredible and they seemed to be doing a 2.5 hour set which includes an encore of requests!

@breakintoprogram.co.uk found this old archive of the Sony PSX (PlayStation) BBS from 1995/6. You had to use a dial-up internet connection to send messages to Sony support in London who would relay them to Japan. I found some of my old messages and I was still trying to help people back then. ❤️
