I feel the last few editions of Laver Cup have become some of my favorite events of the entire season. It used to be Europe would dominate almost every year but it's up for the taking every single year now, and you can tell how much the players want to deliver for their team.

Laver Cup today: That's a must win doubles match for Team Europe, they are the favorites there, and I don't see them sweeping the singles. Team World got to choose who to match where today, if they win 2 matches they win the Laver Cup. If Europe goes 3-1, then a 1 set doubles.

Italy won all 4 sets today, but when you consider the defects they came back from in the first 2 rounds, this was a pretty unlikely title for them and a very gutsy effort to pull it off. Very easily could've lost both singles on Day 1 and now lift the trophy.

Regardless of who wins this doubles match, Team World will need 2 wins tomorrow to clinch the Laver Cup If they win this and go up 9-3, they could get insurance of the 12-12 tie forcing an extra doubles match should they go 1-3 tomorrow.

News: US Open Champion Aryna Sabalenka withdraws from the China Open in Beijing next week. Lists an injury she picked up at the US Open, I'd more guess it's a minor injury that gets her out of the mandatory requirement considering everyone is dealing with something minor this time of year.

Seoul will hopefully be able to finish more than 1 match tomorrow while the ATP events in Hangzhou and Chengdu kick off. It will be Spain vs Ukraine in the BJK Cup QFs. Very likely Badosa vs Svitolina and Bouzas Maneiro vs Kostyuk but that'll be confirmed before the 5pm start tomorrow.
