Just about to go through Kansas City. 8 more hours until we're finally home. I'll be so happy to finish this road trip! It's been an adventure and I'm glad to have had the experience. I'm really going to miss the southwest and desert.

Can we please just stop putting fucking sucralose in every fucking thing now? I'm begging.

Back on the road home tomorrow. Palm Springs was fantastic! Pictures coming in a few days! I'm really going to miss this place! I love the climate and the people we met this week. Definitely coming back for another trip next year sometime!

Hello from Corona Del Mar State Beach!

Eric and I posing for a picture at Joshua Tree National Park. Got to do a little astronomy out there with my telescope, but the moon is just past first quarter so unfortunately it wasn't very dark. It was still very beautiful!

Made it to Palm Springs! Met up with my good friends, and made some wonderful new friends tonight. ❤️

Made it to Flagstaff for the night! Tomorrow is a stop at the Grand Canyon, and then on to Palm Springs!

Made it to eastern Colorado last night. Heading out this morning through the Rocky Mountains, but first m going to pop my Buc-ees cherry!

Just got a haircut today so I'm feeling kinda cute. 😊 Tomorrow I begin a big road trip to Palm Springs with my husband Eric and friend Dave. I'm incredibly excited!

Excellent news on the Apple IIcx! I found a bad trace near capacitor 16. I bodged it and that fixed the soft power issue! 🎉 Sadly my VGA adapter puts the video card into interlace mode. I'm going to test it with a correct monitor. I used my Amiga 4000 monitor since it can handle 15 kHz modes.

I just thought I'd post a photo of my Sega Saturn (model 2) motherboard since I had it out for a bit today. Two Hitachi SH-2 CPUs, and a 68000. The upper-left corner houses the audio DAC, a Burr Brown PCM 1710 which is pretty decent!

A new #Amiga animation appears! This is a 780 frame animation (30 MB) created on my Amiga 1200 in 640x200 DCTV mode. It's playing back at 30 FPS on my Amiga 500/68040.

Thrilled with the latest developments on the Macintosh IIcx! Apparently one of the RAM modules wasn't inserted properly before. Now the only thing I need to do is figure out why the soft power isn't working. Neither from the rear switch or the keyboard switch.

Well... Signs of life on the Macintosh IIcx! I jumped pins 9 and 10 of the power connector to force it to power on. So the board isn't toast (great!) but there's something wrong with the soft power on, and clearly it isn't happy. Progress! 🙂

Help! Mac IIcx, freshly recapped (no problems doing it) no battery leakage damage at all. Known good power supply. Does not power on at all! I'm new to classic Mac stuff. What should I check for?

Q for people savvy about Japanese culture: Many video games have a Lost Woods-like area that is called 迷いの森 or Mayoi no Mori in Japanese. But LoZ didn't invent this, right? I spotted the waxing crescent moon this evening while the sun was still in the sky. Since Jupiter was only a few degrees away I was able to locate it naked eye in the daylight! That was pretty cool! I managed to get this picture with my phone which shows roughly what I saw.

On April 17th 2016 I made this picture from two photos of the moon. There were high clouds causing a hazy halo so I took an overexposed image and a regular image and combined them. I love the way this turned out! The object above is Jupiter.

I love this picture of the moon from last night. You can easily see the earthshine plus this little peak getting some sunlight just past where the the crescent ends. What I don't love is my phone camera shooting infrared light into the eyepiece causing weird artifacts and reflections.

I'm surprised there isn't a drug commercial for people with loose bowels sung to the tune of ABBA's Mama Mia. "Woahoh diarrhea, here I go again..."
